"God the Creator had made man in His own image, and that meant that every man and woman who dwelt under God's light was a creator of some kind, a person with an urge to stretch out his hand and shape the world into some rational pattern."

- The Stand, Stephen King

One of the many cool quotes I got from this book. Only 60% finished so far. Such a long but worthwhile story.

  1. wow nice quote and so in line with what i just watched in The Agony and The Ecstasy!

Especially in part of the movie where Chartlon Heston's Michelangelo and Pope Julius II discuss the faces of God and Adam in the Sistine Chapel (stretched out hands!)

After the Pope questioned Michelangelo as to why had painted the way he did, Michelangelo explained that he painted Adam to look pure and good because at that point in time God had just created him in his own image - still untainted by sin - and it was man who made himself and the world around him so full of cruelty and corruption. but at the same time Adam also holds the power to do just as much good, to create beauty. Michaelangelo then explained that he painted God to look loving because he was so grateful for the blessing of his talent, his ability to create amazing almost miraculous art.

you have the same ability babe!

and good job with the book! more half way through! :)
